Prabhu Sivabalan

Prabhu Sivabalan is a Professor of Management Accounting. Prior to pursuing an academic career, Prabhu was a cadet analyst in Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu.  He leads the Financial and Performance Transformation in Healthcare Group, a collaboration between NSW Health and the UTS Business School. Prabhu is a visiting lecturer and researcher in the Department of Accounting at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), having completed a sabbatical at the LSE in 2008 - 2009. He also researches with faculty in the Said Business School, Oxford University, and has lectured in their well reputed Executive MBA program on the subject Financial Management. Prabhu continues to lecture in the MBA and undergraduate course subjects offered by the School of Accounting. He has been regularly voted in the Graduate School of Business as well as undergraduate top lecturer lists over the past 15 years and was the inaugural recipient of the Accounting Discipline Group teaching prize.

James Wakefield

James Wakefield is a Senior Lecturer at the UTS Business School in the Accounting Discipline Group. James’ accounting education research focuses on the application of technologies to improve student engagement and learning outcomes in introductory accounting. James teaches and coordinates undergraduate introductory accounting and also teaches postgraduate management control systems. James was awarded the 2018 Universities Australia Citation for Outstanding Contributions to Student Learning and the 2017 UTS Learning and Teaching Award for Individual Teaching among other awards as well as grant funding for the application of new technologies to improve student engagement and learning. James has been a visiting scholar at the University of Oxford (Saïd Business School), Monash University (Department of Accounting), University of Southern California (Leventhal School of Accounting) and Luiss University, Rome. James completed the International Teachers Programme (ITP) in 2017.

Roby B. Sawyers

Dr. Roby Sawyers, Ph.D., CPA, CMA, is the DHG Professor and Department Head in Accounting in the Poole College of Management at NC State University in Raleigh, NC. He earned an undergraduate accounting degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, a Master of Accounting from the University of South Florida and a Ph.D. from Arizona State University. Dr. Sawyers has taught a variety of undergraduate and graduate tax courses at NC State and served as a visiting professor in the International Management Program at the Catholic University in Lille, France, the Vienna School of Economics and Business (Wirtschaftsuniversitat Wien), SMEMA Business School in Raleigh, NC and Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Piacenza, Italy. He has taught continuing education courses for the AICPA and a number of international accounting firms. In addition to co-authoring FEDERAL TAX RESEARCH, Dr. Sawyers is a frequent contributor for leading academic, policy and professional tax journals. Dr. Sawyers has been an active member of the AICPA's Tax Division, having served on the Tax Executive Committee and chaired the Trust, Estate and Gift Tax Technical Resource Panel and the AICPA's task force on estate tax reform.

Greg Jenkins

J. Gregory Jenkins, CPA, is Associate Professor of Accounting and Information Systems and the William S. Gay Research Fellow at Virginia Tech. He earned a Ph.D. from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, and an M.S. in accounting and a B.S.B.A. from Appalachian State University. Professor Jenkins has published articles in Accounting, Organizations and Society, Auditing: A Journal of Practice and Theory, Behavioral Research in Accounting, Internal Auditing, Journal of Accountancy, Journal of Information Systems, Strategic Finance, and The CPA Journal. He is also a coauthor of Comprehensive Assurance & Systems Tool, an integrated practice set, and the author of The Enron Collapse, both published by Prentice Hall. He has taught courses in accounting information systems, undergraduate and graduate auditing, business ethics, and managerial and financial accounting principles. Professor Jenkins was previously on the faculty at North Carolina State University, where he received the University Outstanding Teacher Award and was inducted into the Academy of Outstanding Teachers. In addition, Professor Jenkins has served as a visiting professor in the International Management Program at the IESEG School of Management, Catholic University, Lille, France. His professional activities include membership in the American Accounting Association and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Professor Jenkins previously worked as an auditor with Ernst & Young, LLP, and McGladrey & Pullen, LLP, and he has provided consulting services to the furniture industry. He also served on a research task force of the Auditing Section of the American Accounting Association charged with advising the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board on revisions to quality control standards. Professor Jenkins lives with his wife, two daughters, and son in Blacksburg, Virginia.
